![]() ![]() We assume that “trying Dragon software for 30 days” means that you are borrowing someone's installation because when you don't purchase Dragon, it only comes in a 5 time trial use. You may need to consider purchasing a professional group version of Dragon which supports remote network dictation. ![]() This is a bit of a crapshoot with nonnetwork versions of Dragon. When you attempt to dictate over a network, there is no guarantee that Dragon will allow you to natively dictate without copying and pasting from the Dictation Box (what you referred to as the Dictation window, by saying transfer). This is 1 of the many reasons we created the KnowBrainer Installation/Training Guide. In other words you can adjust the properties and behavior of any word. For example, if you select a word, followed by clicking the Properties button, you will see default settings such as inserting 1 space before and after each word. We recommend studying how the Vocabulary Editor works. In our opinion, the Dragon Vocabulary Editor is it's most powerful utility especially for a translator. You can control spacing behavior in the Vocabulary Editor. If you have a lot of Spanish words, it may take time. You can add Parámetro to your personal English vocabulary but you will likely have to additionally train Parámetro in order to use it in an English version of Dragon, as we did. If you purchase a Spanish version of Dragon, you can create both English and Spanish profiles but you can only use one profile at a time. If you need to dictate Spanish and English, we can only recommend purchasing a Spanish version of Dragon. There is no such thing as too much information.Īssuming you are using an English version of Dragon, you can add Spanish words to your vocabulary but Dragon does not natively include Spanish words or Spanish algorithms (pronunciations) so you will not likely achieve ideal results. Keep in mind that because this is a speech recognition forum, you have to be as specific about which version and edition of Dragon you are using as you are in your reference to Trados Studio 2015. Welcome to the World's Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum Processor Intel Core i7, 2.0 GHz, 4GB RAM (enough for DNS 12.5?) Other colleagues working with the same remote desktop do not have these problems, so it must have something to do with my computer! I have seen that I can type correctly using the "Dictation window", bit this forces me to say "Transfer" every time for every sentence, and after about 200-300 times per day it will be very time-consuming. The keyboard imput method is of course ESP. The remote destop uses Windows Server 2012 R2 and all the programs are IN ENGLISH, but the helpdesk at the company think this is not the problem. I have tried to do the same in a Word document and the result is: This is very annoying because I have been requested to avoid double blanks for the sake of quality in my job. Moreover, the program adds a blank in front of every word whenever I start the dictation. Whenever I have to pronounce a Spanish word with special characters á, é, í, ó, ú, the word is broken just before this character and the rest of the word is written in the next segment (or just in another segment, emtpy or not!)įor example, a word like "parámetro" looks like this: However, when I access my company's remote destop from my computer and try DNS in MemoQ or just in MS Office Word, there seem to be problems. Locally, DNS works fine with Trados Studio 2015 and Office. I am a translator and need to work with very specific programs, mainly Trados Studio 2015. I am trying Dragon software for 30 days before I decide whether it works for me. ![]()
