I've come to expect nothing less from our loungers voicing their opinions and providing some balanced advice. PJ, I still have another PC of mine running Linux and I agree to its strong and popular base as a free OS, but I'd give no thought replacing it if a theoretical lite version of windows actually existed. John, TX for the article that certainly sheds a lot of light on the app, even if it slightly dampens the value I've placed in articles from the said source. I get pierced between the ribs for posting this, but it seems it was my saving grace too. Well, it seems doing this was somewhat of a two edged sword. All this excited me to the point that I thought.hey, lets share it with my friends in the lounge. I read the Gizmo's article this morning and thought, "Wow, a new project to provide a free windows alternative," and then my dulled mind went off on where and how I can play with this new software (somewhat of an interest of mine).!! I also related to and even trusted the articles from Gizmo's to whom I subscribe. OK guys, be kind to the flu ridden, meds overdosed, clogged-headed lounger. (Sorry but it's been one of those Monday mornings here.) Maybe you could develop games for ReactOS! Yeah, that's the ticket! Windows NT 3.x, XP and Longhorn themes in ReactOS Grab them from RAPPS. It's just not been broke enough to justify the fix.Ībout the games, I hear there's a game or two out for Linux, but I don't have any direct experience. It's running on an older laptop with VISTA, but I've threatened many times to trash the OS and load MINT myself. I've used Kodi and it's predecessor, XBMC, for years on my own home theater system. How about just loading MINT and KODI to have a fully capable entertainment system. You know, I just can't seem to fill out that last part. An OS that is still in development that no one in their right mind will be developing applications for is of more interest because you could load the OS then embark on a life of application development for an OS with 0 installed base and no development environment because. Linux, which has an installed base in the 100's of millions and tons of applications is not an option because "it's not popular with you".ģ. Old hardware needs a less-resource hog OSĢ. So let me see if I understand what you're saying:ġ.
